Several times a year, we do maintenance work at the Wild Ones native planting at the OSU 4H garden. Experience with native plants, a shovel, trowel, or weeding implement is helpful, but not required. All joking aside, you do not need to be a member to volunteer, and if you know very little about native plants, it’s a good way to learn about native plants and find out what we’re all about.

Board Members (Members Only)

If you have a passion for native plants and pollinators and would be interested in a leadership role, please email us or come to one of our meetings and talk with one of the board members.

Committees (Members Only)

Membership – Assists the membership chair. Assist with sign in sheets at programs, connect with new members, conduct new member orientations, initiate and/or assist with member recruitment and retention.

Plant sale – This committee finds the venue, organizes plant digs and pot up events, volunteers, and vendors; and does logistics planning for the highly anticipated Annual Native Plant Sale in May.

Programs – Develops the monthly programs. This include finding speakers, planning member yard tours, arranging guided tours in woodlands or prairies, and any other educational activities that may interest our chapter.

Seed swap – Help with planning and logistics for our Annual Seed Swap that is held the second Saturday in January.

Social – A new committee! Social events can revolve around plants or other interests. Let’s get to know each other.

Outreach Event Tabling (Members Only)

Our chapter schedules a number of tabling events throughout the year. All Wild Ones Columbus tabling materials are provided, we just need a volunteer or two to share knowledge about native plants with visitors. Click here to view the tabling events on SignUpGenius
